ComNet introduces its expanded Ethernet product range as ComWorx

Manufacturer of fiber-optic transmission and networking equipment, ComNet (Communication Networks), is introducing the ComWorx product line to bring to market its expanded Ethernet product offering. The company has recently expanded its Ethernet product range to be one of the most comprehensive lines available for both the security and ITS markets. Among other applications, its products are used for transmitting CCTV over optical fiber, and this regard ate used extensively used in the ITS market, with fiber-optic transmission equipment for transmitting video for Vehicle Identification (VIN), data signalization for traffic controllers and Variable Message Signs (VMS).

The new line consists of copper-to-fiber-optic Ethernet media converters, as well as both managed and unmanaged Ethernet switches switches. By expanding the product line to include Ethernet-over-unshielded twisted pair (UTP) and Ethernet-over-coaxial cable media converters, serial data to Ethernet data devices and contact closure over Ethernet devices, as well as a truly environmentally hardened video encoder, it gives the company a diverse Ethernet system suite.

“Combining our Ethernet product range under the ComWorx brand makes sense from a product positioning perspective,” explains Frank Haight, ComNet’s vice president of marketing. “We’ve introduced a complete Ethernet solution to the security and ITS markets in a very short time. Our research shows how the markets are turning toward the many benefits Ethernet offers and we are positioning the ComWorx line as single source solution toward solving IP transmission challenges.”
