Braidwood Associates wins International Business Achievement Award

Microsimulation traffic modeling consultancy, Braidwood Associates, has won the prestigious British Chamber of Commerce, Scottish region, International Business Achievement Award. The award was made following four years of international growth for the Edinburgh-based consultancy. In the past year, Braidwood Associates has provided traffic management advice to a number of major USA infrastructure projects including New York City’s Bronx redevelopment and some of world’s busiest highways such as I-880 and I-450 in California.

Scottish entrepreneur, Richard Braidwood, started the business in 2005 and has overseen four consecutive years of revenue and profit growth, which has been underpinned by strong performance in the USA. The company generates over 90% of its business from its US operations and is in prime position to benefit from continued infrastructure investment in the USA. “Braidwood Associates demonstrates a great example of businesses built in Scotland that have grown by seizing opportunities in foreign markets,” suggests Ron Hewitt, CEO of Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce. “The company has developed an international client list based on the traditional values of innovation, expertise and hard work.”

“We are naturally delighted to have been recognized in this way,” says Richard Braidwood, managing director. “We view the Chamber of Commerce Award for International Business as a benchmark of excellence. We have built one of the world’s leading independent 3D traffic simulation businesses and established a client base that includes some of the biggest transport authorities in the world, along with a number of the most enterprising private corporations globally. Our intention is to maintain our growth by capitalizing on the ongoing investment in infrastructure projects around the world. Our focused approach will continue, based on our successful business model and experience in the microsimulation marketplace.”
