New leaders for ITSA's safety group

Dia Gainor is to be the new chair and Captain Raymond Fisher the vice-chair of ITS America’s Public Safety Advisory Group, which advises the US DOT on the development and deployment of ITS.

Gainor (right) has served as the bureau chief of Idaho’s emergency medical services for 15 years and is a past president of the National Association of State Emergency Medical Services Officials. Fisher has more than 19 years of law enforcement experience and is currently the chair of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) State and Provincial Police Planning Officers Section.

ITSA’s Public Safety Advisory Group initiates programs that promote inter-disciplinary, inter-agency and inter-jurisdictional coordination and cooperation, and that promote partnerships for advancing transportation services technologies. The group draws its membership from transport service providers, including law enforcement, emergency medical services, transport operators, emergency management, emergency communications, fire and rescue, and telematics and technology interests.
