Banner Engineering launches new range of all-weather radar-based sensors

Banner Engineering has introduced an updated series of radar-based sensors with enhanced capability for detecting large objects in challenging outdoor situations. The R-GAGE sensors support collision avoidance and vehicle management applications in, traffic, tolling and parking systems, as well as container ports, materials handling and drive-through retail locations.

With expanded distance capabilities, the new radar-based sensors can detect objects both further away from the unit and closer to it, which helps reduce ‘dead’ zones. The Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar provides reliable detection in nearly any weather condition; it is not affected by rain, snow, wind, fog, light, humidity or temperature. It is also able to detect stationary objects that cannot be detected by Doppler radar systems.

The sensors are able to provide dual-zone signaling and the range feature models that are available for long range use at up to 40m (131 feet), as well as wide angle and narrow beam applications. All models feature easy DIP-switch configuration, with no PC required.
