Reno A&E launches new series of prefabricated loops for access control applications

Nevada-based developer and manufacturer of high-performance traffic monitoring and detection products Reno A&E (RAE) has introduced the PLA Series of Prefabricated Saw-Cut Loops for access control applications.

A subsidiary of Eberle Design Inc. (EDI), RAE has manufactured prefabricated loops for the access, and traffic control industries for more than 20 years. The ultra-lightweight PLA Series loops are extremely flexible, even in cold temperature environments, and are designed with Cross-linked Polyethylene (XLPE) insulation. The loops can be installed in 1/8-inch wide (0.32cm) saw cuts or larger, and eliminate the need to cut 45º-relief corners, which provides a longer lifecycle of the roadway surface. The new series of loops also incorporate a tinned 20AWG, 4-conductor, stranded copper wire for corrosion resistance.

The PLA Series of Prefabricated Saw-Cut Loops is the newest addition to RAE’s product suite of prefabricated loops for saw-cut and direct burial applications. The PLB Series, a saw-cut and direct burial type, is designed for concrete, paver applications or asphalt applications with a sand or dirt barrier. The PLH Series, a direct burial type, is designed for cement or hot asphalt roadway applications.

RAE recently achieved ISO recertification (ISO9001:2015 Standard) from Management Certification of North America (MCNA). Meeting the ISO 9001:2015 standards requires companies to perform quality audits of their systems and processes. From employee education to preventative maintenance, document maintenance, supplier management, and other aspects, it ensures companies continually improve products, processes and services. The 2015 requirements are more stringent than the previous 2008 standard, and focus more on the reduction of risk across all business departments.

EDI and RAE are currently participating in the International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Forum & Expo (July 8-11) in Scottsdale, Arizona. The companies are exhibiting advanced data aggregation, vehicle detection and signal monitoring systems. EDI’s chief technology officer, Scott Evans, will deliver a technical presentation on ‘Advanced Traffic Controller Cabinet (ATCC) Overview’, and RAE’s sales manager, Matt Zinn, will be conducting a session on ‘Bike Detection Utilizing Inductive Loops’.
