RAI Amsterdam expands portfolio with launch of Intertraffic Indonesia 2018

Organizers of the Intertraffic brand of road transport technology events, RAI Amsterdam, has announced that it is expanding its portfolio with the launch of Intertraffic Indonesia 2018.

Since its launch in 1972, the Intertraffic shows have been regarded as a leading international marketplace for smart mobility, infrastructure, traffic management, road safety and parking, with events taking place in the Netherlands, China, Turkey and Mexico.

RAI Amsterdam has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate with Tarsus Indonesia, a business-to-business (B2B) event, exhibition, conference and media company, to present Intertraffic Indonesia 2018. The new show will be co-located with Indonesia Infrastructure Week (IIW), Konstruksi Indonesia, and The Big 5 Construct Indonesia events taking place from October 31 to November 2, 2018.

The event will present the latest traffic and mobility solutions to address the country’s various traffic problems. Based on the latest report from the TomTom Traffic Index 2017, Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta, is ranked as the third most-congested city in the world (see bottom) behind Mexico City and Bangkok. Such is the traffic density in Jakarta, drivers need to allow up to 58% extra travel time, with a 95% increase in peak evening travel times when compared to uncongested periods.

The Government of Indonesia, led by President Joko Widodo, realizes that connectivity and mobility access need to be improved to boost the country’s economic growth through the development of various infrastructures. Good traffic management is required to improve the connectivity and mobility of people across the country, with the transport sector requiring special attention, investment, and management from all stakeholders.

Intertraffic Indonesia 2018 is designed as a solution to answer a multitude of traffic problems in the country. The event will feature road infrastructure, traffic management, road safety, parking and smart mobility technologies, and will be attended by road infrastructure project owners, public transport and toll road operators, transportation operators from private sectors, transportation authorities and other government agencies, to conduct business and present solutions to expand the road network, while improving road safety.

Richard Butter, director of traffic technology at RAI Amsterdam, said, “Intertraffic Indonesia 2018 serves as a platform for key figures in infrastructure, traffic management, safety, parking lots operational development, and all industry professionals to gather, do business and witness the best solutions that improve mobility and improve traffic conditions, not only in Jakarta, but also other big cities in Indonesia and the ASEAN region.”

Upcoming Intertraffic events:
Mexico 2017 – November 15-17;
Amsterdam 2018 – March 20-23;
China 2018 – May 28-30;
Istanbul 2019 – Spring.
