Its portfolio of advanced traffic management (ATM) services includes over 40 systems that integrate ATMS, SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition), and automation for collecting real-time traffic and facilities-related data from highways, managed lanes, bridges, and tunnels. This information is delivered to a traffic management center where it is processed for actionable use by road operators, government authorities, and road users.

Kapsch TrafficCom’s tolling solutions span all-electronic toll collection in free-flow traffic, automated payment at conventional toll plazas, and city tolling. Its solutions comprise radio communication via micro waves, vehicle tracking via GNSS (global navigation satellite systems), ALPR (automatic license plate recognition) video tolling, and vehicle classification via video and laser sensors, LVDC (laser vehicle detection and classification). Kapsch TrafficCom’s systems can manage operations for areas ranging from individual roads to entire regions, and can be modified for distance-based or time-based charging.  

Kapsch TrafficCom’s combined intelligent mobility solutions are used to aid traffic management personnel in making critical decisions during emergency response situations, as well as for providing real-time traffic information to road users from the highway to the city.

Kapsch TrafficCom is seeking an Electronics Maintenance Manager for its office in Irving, Texas, USA.

The Electronics Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, delivering and administering new and existing maintenance programs for electronic toll collection (ETC) and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) for a roadway or group of roadways for a client.

The Electronics Maintenance Manager will:

• Manage and develop the maintenance workforce for the project;
• Be the primary point of contact for the customer during the maintenance phase of the project.  Attend scheduled meetings with customer representatives to provide maintenance reporting;
• Develop and review regular service schedules, reporting on product degradation and
help in the development of standards for minimum effective service;
• Maintain program budgets, conduct maintenance program performance assessments;
• Monitor and provide regular reporting on system level KPIs, including financial and service level performance metrics;
• Implementing programs and schedules that provide for the continuation of programs that maintain high quality service;
• Monitor and maintain an adequate spare parts inventory;
• Work with Quality Assurance to develop, implement and maintain maintenance quality standards;
• Set up initial operating procedures based on established company rules and procedures;
• Work with client to maintain satisfactory service levels.

Qualified candidates will possess a high school diploma and have seven years of experience in the maintenance of industrial data acquisition sensors, transportation management equipment (touchscreens, cash or electronic toll collection equipment), or information technology equipment utilized in industrial or field environments. Examples of related experience could be: ETC (Electronic Toll Collection) or ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems); ATMs; parking lot equipment.

Candidates should have: knowledge of RF measurement equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, RF Power Meters and VNAs; understanding of digital and RF technologies as they relate to RFID (Radio-frequency identification); and PC software packages such as web explorers (i.e. Explorer, FireFox), FTP/TCP clients (such as Putty) and Unix/Linus based software.
