Traffic Engineer – Be-Mobile

Ghent, Belgium

Be-Mobile is a European market leader in smart mobility solutions, with headquarters in Ghent, Belgium. It is developing and selling technological solutions for electronic toll collection, multi-modal route planning and electronic fare collection. It also offers advanced solutions to measure and manage traffic flows to put travelers, cities, road authorities, parking operators and logistic companies in control over their mobility processes.

To strengthen its team, Be-Mobile is looking for: a Traffic Engineer.

Traffic Lab is the brain of our organization, where all the research is centered and where innovation begins. To expand and reinforce this team we are looking for a traffic engineer who will be in charge of:
• Together with the team you will develop new traffic prediction models, techniques for fusion and statistical analysis of traffic data, geo ICT processes. These new models will be prototyped in Matlab.
• Models will be translated into technical specs for our developers
• In close collaboration with our business analysts and developers, developing and managing assigned projects to ensure successful delivery of project objectives within the defined parameters of cost, scope and quality.
• Consulting with external customers and project stakeholders on project initiation statements, project definition reports, project status reports, business cases, and benefits realization estimates.
• Developing work plans and work programs, including estimates and resource requirements; communicating project status and being the project advocate; taking responsibility for risk and issue management.
• Continuous improvement of its own program and project management capabilities and of solution delivery to business clients. Participating in and facilitating post project/phase reviews to cultivate a "learning organization".

The must-haves we are looking for are:
• Higher relevant degree (geography, technology, engineering, data-analysis) and eagerness to learn.
• Strong analytical mind and creative thinker, together with your colleagues you work out multiple opportunities for new models.
• Higher degree and eagerness to learn.
• Strong project management skills with experience in organizing, prioritizing, planning, and executing multiple medium-scale projects from definition through implementation, involving internal personnel and consultants.
• Ability to manage one to five medium risk projects concurrently, including multi-phase and multi-track projects with up to 20 project team members.
• Experience in delivering fixed price project including P&L (profit and loss) management.
• Standard project methodology (such as Prince II) knowledge and practice. Certification seen as a plus.
