The opportunity
Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has a unique opportunity for a highly experienced senior level maintenance and operations management professional who has exceptional leadership skills and the initiative to deliver the Maintenance Program.
The Maintenance Manager will have the high-profile responsibility of directing the maintenance, operation, and preservation of 3,654 lane-miles of state highways in Eastern Washington, including Spokane County, the most densely populated urban county in Eastern Washington.
This position is critical in ensuring the highway infrastructure is maintained in good working order to allow for uninterrupted movement of people and commerce across the state. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of maintenance operations and practices and provide staff (184 FTEs) a balanced workplace, promoting training and development for professional growth and upward mobility, employee safety, workforce diversity, and pride in ownership.
