R&D Support Technician – Perceptics

Position Summary
Immediate opening for an experienced R&D Support Technician to provide timely and effective technician services to all departments and teams responsible for the deployment of products and services to customers. 

Areas of Responsibility:
• Support design engineering functions through conceptualizing, prototyping, testing and validating new designs and documenting design information. 
• Design and perform tests to determine compliance with performance specifications for new products or product enhancements. 
• Capture and document all test data regarding whether a given design meets the established specifications. 
• Serve as a liaison between engineering and manufacturing to help develop manufacturing procedures and processes. 
• Provide troubleshooting support and feedback as needed regarding the testing of new designs and production units. 
• Aid transition of new products and designs into production by providing assembly specs, cable specs, set-up procedures and jigs or test rigs to help conduct tests and set-up functions. 
• Ensure engineering has all of the documentation necessary to create thorough installation manuals. 
• Support sales by manufacturing and producing demonstration equipment. 

Occasional travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in engineering;
• Minimum five years of work experience in a technical position; 
• Must be a US citizen; 

• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and ability to work well in a team environment with minimal supervision. 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to coordinate and accomplish objectives through other involved company personnel, work team members, technicians, supervisory personnel and contractors. 
• Ability to run, modify and debug test scripts using common scripting languages. Experience writing scripts and/or software a plus. 
• Must be able to use Microsoft Word and Excel to manipulate data and prepare reports. 
• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing (including preparation and presentation of reports and data). 
• Basic understanding of image processing a plus.
