Traffic / ITS Engineer II – Sabra, Wang & Associates, Inc.

Columbia, Maryland, USA

Sabra, Wang & Associates, Inc. has an opening for a Mid-Level Traffic / ITS Engineer in its Columbia, Maryland office.

Duties of the position:
Perform intersection and corridor operational analyses; 
Perform evaluation of existing signal timing operations;  
Perform micro-simulation analyses and studies;  
Assist in the development, implementation and fine-tuning of optimized signal timings; 
Prepare design plans for traffic control devices, including traffic signals, signing and pavement markings, temporary traffic control, lighting, and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS); 
Compile traffic data; perform data analytics; and evaluate trends using big data sources; 
Develop engineering specifications and cost estimates; 
Prepare technical reports and deliver technical presentations;
May include working at local clients offices (DC, MD, VA area).

Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Experience Requirements:
Two plus years of experience in Traffic / ITS Engineering; 
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university; MS in civil/transportation engineering from accredited university preferred;
E.I.T. Certification;
Strong written and verbal communication skills; 
Experience with traffic engineering software HCS, Synchro/Simtraffic, VISSIM is preferred;
Knowledge of programming languages (Python, VB or Java) is preferred.
Valid driver's License, good driving record, and reliable transportation.  

Must have daily and immediate access to a vehicle to be able to conduct traffic studies throughout the VA, MD and DC area (company reimburses travel expenses).
