Travel Analysis Specialist - Transportation Engineer 3 - Washington State Department of Transportation

Salary: US$62,436-US$83,988 (annually)

The Opportunity:
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Multimodal Planning Division's (MMPD) Transportation Data, GIS and Modeling Office (TDGMO), in Tumwater, Washington, is seeking a Transportation Engineer 3 (TE3) to join its team as a Travel Analysis Specialist.

This position is responsible for utilizing advanced knowledge in the field of traffic engineering to perform analyses, produce summary reports of findings, and provide recommendations relative to project goals.

The Travel Analysis Specialist serves as the agency authority on the prediction of traveler delay and the resulting societal costs from failure to open a roadway segment to traffic on time as specified in a roadwork contract.

Additional duties include, but are not limited to, overseeing the development of holiday travel time forecasts, analysis of traffic data and other relevant information to help develop future travel demand models, and calculation of site-specific growth rates based on historic data.
