North American-based companies from across the transportation industry have come together to create a new strategic coalition – Unity for Mobility – which aims to unify standards and purpose through strategic collaboration and innovation, to address critical urban challenges like safety, congestion and sustainability.
Members so far include: Miovision, Flow Labs, Raven, Swift Navigation, Geotab, LYT, Swiftly, AM Signal, Haas Alert, Urban Logiq, Transportation Control Systems, Signal Service, Traffic Control Products, Oriux, Coastal Traffic, DDL Traffic, Traffic Systems Incorporated, Northeast Signal, JO Herbert, Carrier & Gable, CTC, TATPL, Niosense, MN Insight, and Derq.
A statement signed by the company leaders reads: “Industries must constantly adapt or risk obsolescence. As an industry, our focus is on delivering impactful outcomes for citizens by uniting public and private interests. We are writing to affirm our commitment to helping to reduce congestion and enable safer streets. Our goal is sustainable and efficient transportation.
“Unity in standards and purpose, alongside competition, drives innovation in our industry. Cities are tackling real issues today like climate change and large changes in mobility trends. Unity and determination are crucial in overcoming these challenges. We understand the link between mobility, the economy, the environment and safety and are committed to tackling these issues together.
“Our shared values as an industry rest upon the following commitments:

“We will design security into all our products to ensure that threat actors are unable to impact our critical transportation infrastructure.
“We believe that interoperability is core to delivering against these commitments. We pledge to work together to improve interoperability standards for digital infrastructure.”
