Following the surprise news earlier this week that Shailen Bhatt was stepping down as FHWA Administrator, the transportation leader has announced he will be joining AtkinsRéalis in a new senior role.
Bhatt, who previously headed up two state DOTs – Delaware and Colorado – among other senior roles within the transportation industry, will now join AtkinsRéalis, which provides engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services to various industries.
His new position is senior vice president and chief operating officer for the United States, Latin America and the Minerals & Metals business.
“AtkinsRéalis is well known for excellent client service, an exceptional culture, and significant contributions to the communities it serves,” said Bhatt in a LinkedIn post announcing his new role. “Having worked with many of the team here before, I am excited about our potential to help our clients engineer a better future.”
