Autonomous vehicle developer Oxbotica has used a BP oil refinery in Germany to test its latest technology. The Oxbotica AV is able to operate fully autonomously without the need for any external maps or sensors. The refinery provided a challenging environment for the vehicle due to the unusual surroundings, surfaces and lack of regular road markings. The test was also able to take place at all hours of the day, in varied weather conditions, in the working, dynamic surroundings.
