Truck Parking USA, the leading online and mobile platform for truck parking facilities, has partnered with commercial truck routing software company ProMiles to offer an integrated service that includes journey planning, fuel pricing, and rest locations.
According to the 2017 Critical Issues in The Trucking Industry report prepared by The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI), truck parking and transportation infrastructure are among the 10 most challenging issues facing the trucking industry.
With the addition of ProMiles software to the platform, Truck Parking USA is working to address difficulties drivers face on the road. With the integration of ProMiles software, Truck Parking now includes a location-based fuel pricing tool, as well as the ability to search for routes with appropriate commercial vehicle capacities. Tried and tested by a community of over 140,000 truck drivers, the Truck Parking USA app and website is the leading resource for drivers looking to find the perfect place to rest.
Truck Parking USA is owned by German transportation software developer PTV Group, which operates Truck Parking Europe, a platform that offers its users the largest free Europe-wide database for helping drivers find a suitable parking space along their route.
Using similar technology, the Truck Parking USA platform’s parking locator enables drivers to find available spaces before pulling over, maximizing driving while minimizing search time. Drivers receive access to an exclusive collection of parking locations and filter by the amenities and/or security features they deem most important. The app also provides helpful reviews written by a trusted community of truck drivers who can report free parking spots near their location, allowing truckers to see the real-time availability of parking spots along their routes.
“We are thrilled to integrate ProMiles software into our platform,” said Niels de Zwaan, managing director of Truck Parking USA. “Through this partnership, which is only the first step in significant additions we’ll be making to the platform, we are able to elevate the driving and routing experience for truck drivers around the globe. Our mission is to continue expanding our offering so drivers are able to take the safest and most efficient trips possible.”
Tony Stroncheck, ProMiles’ president of sales and marketing, said, “Embracing cutting edge technology with partners like Truck Parking USA is part of what keeps this industry exciting. Working with a team with the infrastructure experience they have shown in Europe will undoubtedly enhance their capacity here in North America.”
