The USDOT’s ITS JPO has announced plans for face-to-face foundational vehicle-to-everything (V2X) training, which will take place in April at the ITS America event in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office (ITS JPO) new introductory training program aims to introduce transportation professionals to some of the key concepts surrounding V2X systems.
As a foundational-level course it will equip participants with a basic understanding of V2X concepts. Participants will be introduced to key components that enable a V2X ecosystem, learn about potential benefits of the technology, and explore example use cases and the messages and standards that support them while ensuring safety and privacy.
Anyone interested in the training session, which is scheduled to take place at the Phoenix Convention Center on Thursday, April 25, 2024, can sign up for free. The training will last four hours and run from 1 to 5pm MT, offering participants a first-hand opportunity to delve into the intricacies of V2X technology.
The target audience for this training includes transportation professionals with an interest in V2X. As an introductory course it targets individuals new to V2X concepts as well as individuals interested in refreshing their knowledge of key V2X concepts. No prior V2X experience is required to attend this training.
In addition to the delivery of this training at the ITSA meeting, the ITS JPO is working with ITS America to deliver the training in collaboration with ITS State Chapters. Entities interested in learning more about V2X training opportunities should contact JD Schneeberger (ITS JPO) at john.schneeberger@dot.gov.
