The City of Seville and ERTICO-ITS Europe has announced new dates for the 16th ITS European Congress, which will now take place from May 19-21, 2025.
The schedule adjustment comes to enable Seville’s Fibes Conference Center to prepare fully to host the United Nations’ 4th International Conference on Financing for Development later in the summer.
Under the theme Clean, Resilient, and Connected Mobility, the ITS European Congress will showcase the latest developments in intelligent transport systems. The event is being organized through a collaboration between ERTICO-ITS Europe, the Seville City Council, the Ministry of Transports and Sustainable Mobility, the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), the Junta de AndalucÃa, and ITS Spain.
ERTICO has opened its Call for Contributions to the Technical Programme, seeking proposals that align with European Commission initiatives such as the European Green Deal, Fit for 55, and the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy. The congress will feature high-level discussions, networking opportunities, and an exhibition of cutting-edge mobility technologies.
The event aims to bring together thought leaders, experts, and innovators in intelligent transport and mobility to address future challenges in sustainable transportation. Key focus areas will include sustainability, connectivity, and resilience, supporting Europe’s climate and digitalization objectives.
The change accommodates the UN conference, scheduled for June 30-July 3, 2025, which will bring together heads of state and government officials to address challenges in implementing Sustainable Development Goals and discuss global financial architecture reform. The ITS European Congress was originally scheduled for June 2-4, but the high-profile UN event requires many weeks of preparation, with particular focus on security.
