Leading German developer of security and authentication products Schreiner PrinTrust will be launching two new vehicle identification systems at the Intertraffic Amsterdam event in the Netherlands on March 20 to 23.
Schreiner PrinTrust will present its portfolio of innovative labels, tags and transponders for automatic vehicle identification (AVI) and efficient fleet management at the show. It will be showcasing its new ((rfid))-Windshield Label Global Secure, which features enhanced data security and communications, and the ‘Third License Plate’ tag for vehicle identification.
The company will also present its range of security labels for diverse vehicle-related applications, such as stickers, vignettes (toll stickers) and transfer seals. Schreiner notes that as worldwide traffic volumes keep growing as a result of increased mobility demands, solutions that accelerate traffic flow will be in particular demand at toll stations and for vehicle access and control purposes.
The upgraded version of Schreiner’s RFID-based (radio frequency identification) Windshield Label enables automatic, contactless vehicle identification due to a label-integrated RFID chip that now offers higher security and speed. The Windshield Labels are used in all AVI applications requiring reliable vehicle identification and access authorization checks, such as at toll stations, for parking or secure facility access control systems, and in fleet management applications.
The Windshield Label Global Secure has now been enhanced by a new RFID chip. The widely-used AVI tag is now available as a particularly economical version with an NXP UCODE DNA City chip, which enables encryption of chip contents and data communications using the 128-bit AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) key.
This ensures high data security and confidentiality during the reading process, and faster communications with reader units. The larger version of the Windshield Label with two AES keys and higher storage capacity was originally launched in 2016, and has since been successfully rolled out in the field, such as deployments in Saudi Arabia.
Schreiner PrinTrust has developed the Third License Plate to protect vehicles against illegal access and for early detection of stolen automobiles. The self-adhesive, credit card-sized label is affixed to the inside of the windshield and inscribed with the vehicle data issued by the country/region’s registration authority.
It can be provided with overt, covert, and digital security features, such as holograms, OVI (optically variable ink), human- and machine-readable serialization, and a void text or void pattern, depending on the desired security level. The Third License Plate is optionally available with an NXP UCODE DNA RFID chip for encrypted communications and maximum security.
