At the TRB Annual Meeting in Washington DC this week (January 7-11) US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was guest of honour and delivered this inspirational speech to close the Chair’s Plenary Session yesterday (January 10).
In the address Buttigieg focuses on transportation safety, job creation, decarbonisation and investment in transit, with his overarching theme being the transformational impact transportation can have on all communities and individual lives. Buttigieg presented a vision of a safer, more sustainable, cleaner and more equitable society created through investment in transportation.
