Transportation solutions firm Kapsch TrafficCom has signed a new maintenance contract for the tolling and point-of-sales technology on the Oresund Bridge, which connects Denmark and Sweden and is one of the most iconic bridges in the Nordic region.
The contract is set to run from February 2026 until January 2031 and has a base volume of slightly above €3m, with the possibility of reaching €6m depending on upcoming change requests.
“We are delighted that we were awarded with the extension of our collaboration for the further maintenance and development of the tolling and point-of-sales technology on this iconic and important bridge,” said Michael Weber, head of sales, EMENA at Kapsch TrafficCom.
“With almost 600,000 vehicles passing the bridge every month, it is a significant positive factor of integration of the two regions,” Weber added.
As part of the agreement, Kapsch TrafficCom is delivering ongoing maintenance of the existing tolling roadside system, including cameras and other sensors. The company also provides point of sales software and hardware, enabling a stress-free and comfortable bridge tolling experience for drivers.
