A proof-of-concept designed to increase pedestrian and driver safety has been developed by Here and Verizon. Combining 5G Ultra Wideband capabilities with HD Live Map and Live Sense SDK computer vision technology, they were able to create a vehicle-to-network (V2N) communication system. This system predicts likely travel paths in near-real time, and warns vehicles of impending potential collisions creating safer roadways
