The New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) is launching a two-year pilot that will see parking spaces across the city reserved specifically for carshare vehicles. The pilot will make it easier for people to drive and park around New York City without actually owning a car. Ultimately, the pilot could help to significantly reduce congestion as people opt to carshare instead of owning private vehicles.
