North Carolina DOT has been announced as the winner of the TSMO Award 2021 for Agency Improvement. The win was thanks to its new traffic incident management (TIM) training track, which provides a lifelike classroom to increase incident response time, improve air quality, and help save the lives of responders. A full case study of the project has been published by award organisers The National Operations Center of Excellence (NOCoE).
There are four categories in the awards.. The winner in each category automatically becomes a nominee for the Overall TSMO Award, to be presented in late Spring. Last year’s Overall TSMO Award Winner was Georgia Department of Transportation for its Automated Traffic Signal Performance Measure system.
