Waymo, formerly the Google Self-Driving Car Project, is improving its autonomous vehicles’ (AV) object recognition technology, also known as ‘neural nets’, with artificial intelligence (AI). Previously, neural nets were taught and improved by human staff at Waymo. In the future, fully autonomous vehicles could help to keep roads safer and reduce traffic congestion.
